In a bid to enhance healthcare services in the remote regions of Himachal Pradesh, the NHPC Regional Office in Banikhet conducted a specialist medical camp as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility–Sustainable Development (CSR–SD) initiative. This event took place at the Government Primary School in Baily, located in the Gram Panchayat Baily of District Chamba, in partnership with Amandeep Hospital from Pathankot.

The medical camp offered expert consultations in orthopedics, pediatrics, and general medicine, catering to the healthcare needs of both children and adults. Attendees received free diagnostic tests, including blood tests, and essential medications prescribed by doctors were distributed at no charge, providing crucial support to economically disadvantaged community members.

The event was officially inaugurated by Mr. Rajil Vyas, Executive Director of NHPC Regional Office Banikhet, alongside Dr. Ranveer Singh Rathi, General Manager (Medical Services), and other senior officials. Mr. Vyas took the initiative to personally hand out medicines to patients, highlighting NHPC’s commitment to community welfare.

In total, 63 individuals from Baily and surrounding villages benefited from the camp, receiving health check-ups, medical advice, diagnostic services, and free medications.

During the event, Mr. Vyas emphasized NHPC’s pivotal role in improving healthcare access in the remote mountainous areas of Chamba. He described such camps as a “lifeline” for communities that often lack access to modern medical facilities due to challenging terrain and significant distances. He assured attendees that NHPC plans to continue organizing similar medical camps in other remote locations within Chamba, ensuring that geographical barriers do not hinder access to healthcare.

Local Panchayat representatives and villagers expressed their sincere appreciation to NHPC for organizing the camp and expressed hope for the continuation of such welfare initiatives in the future.
