Appointment of New Vice-Chancellor
The Governor of Haryana and Chancellor of Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University, Kaithal, Professor Aseem Kumar Ghosh, has appointed the distinguished academic and researcher, Professor Rajendra Kumar Anayat, as the new Vice-Chancellor of the university. On Saturday, January 10, 2026, Professor Anayat officially took charge at the university's office located within the Bhimrao Ambedkar College campus.
Professor Sanjay Goyal, the university's Registrar, along with Professor Bhag Singh Bodla, Dr. Jagat Narayan, and other members of the university community, warmly welcomed him with bouquets. Additionally, the university's faculty honored him with a ceremonial pot and Vedic chants as they escorted him to the Vice-Chancellor's office, where he assumed his responsibilities. Following this, the Vice-Chancellor delivered a ceremonial address, beginning with the Vedic mantra 'Bhadram Karnebhih Shrinuyama,' explaining its meaning and significance, emphasizing the importance of listening to auspicious words, seeing good, and maintaining positive thoughts to achieve success.
It is noteworthy that Professor Anayat has previously served as Vice-Chancellor at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology in Murthal, Haryana, twice, and has also held the position at BPS Women University in Khanpur, Haryana. He is now taking on the role of Vice-Chancellor at Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University for the fourth time. Renowned internationally in the field of printing and media technology, Professor Anayat has been honored with the honorary rank of Colonel for his exceptional contributions to education. He is also the All India Head of Indian Knowledge System under the Indian Educational Mandal. His appointment at the Sanskrit University is viewed as a blend of traditional Sanskrit education and modern technology. Under his leadership, the university aims to preserve ancient texts and languages while integrating them with the contemporary digital era.
It is important to mention that following the completion of former Vice-Chancellor Professor Ramesh Chandra Bhardwaj's term on April 2, the additional responsibilities of the Vice-Chancellor were assigned to Professor Rajbir Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.
On the occasion of his assuming office, attendees included Professor Kanwardeep Sharma from Murthal University, Principal Manoj Kumar Bhambhu from Ambedkar College, Professor Anil Khurana, Dr. Ashok Sharma, and Mahesh and Sunil, conveners of the Indian Educational Mandal in Kaithal. Various department heads from the Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University, including Dr. Ramanand Mishra, Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, Dr. Naresh Sharma, Dr. Naveen Sharma, Dr. Harish Kumar, Finance Officer Krishna Kumar, Superintendent Subhash Chand, and Ankur Gupta, were also present.
