On Monday, Vikas Sharma officially took on his role as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Bharmour. In his first address to local media, he expressed enthusiasm about serving in a tribal area and committed to tackling local challenges with effective solutions tailored to the region's distinct geographical conditions.
Sharma outlined his main objectives, which include enhancing education, healthcare, tourism, and road infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the benefits of government welfare programs reach the most disadvantaged members of the community.
Recognizing Bharmour's significant tourism potential, he mentioned initiatives to promote ice-skating and a winter festival during the snowfall season, aimed at generating job opportunities for residents even in the colder months.
Additionally, Sharma promised to address urgent local concerns, such as the garbage disposal issue in Bharmour and the problem of bear attacks in Khani Panchayat. He also instructed that ration depots should promptly distribute any pending supplies to prevent hardships for residents during the ongoing snowfall.
