Significant Railway Development in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Officials announced on Thursday that the Ministry of Railways has approved the construction of a fourth railway line between the Ranital Link Cabin and Bhadrak station, covering a distance of 5.06 kilometers, with an estimated investment of Rs 149.32 crore in Odisha.

This section, part of the Howrah–Chennai High-Density Network (HDN), is recognized as one of the busiest railway routes in India, according to a statement from the East Coast Railway (ECoR).

The implementation of this crucial project is expected to enhance the capacity and operational efficiency of train services along the Howrah–Chennai mainline, while also improving freight access to the Dhamra and Paradeep ports.

The addition of the fourth line aims to alleviate congestion by segregating port-related freight traffic from the mainline, which will lead to quicker and more reliable services for both passenger and express trains, as highlighted in the statement.
