New Portal Launched for Sahara Group Refund Claims

Introduction to the Refund Portal

The Ministry of Corporation has introduced the CRCS Sahara Re-submission Refund Portal aimed at facilitating refunds for investors associated with four cooperative societies of the Sahara Group. This portal is specifically designed for those whose refund claims were previously denied or lacked necessary documentation. It is open for claims up to ₹5 lakh, and investors are encouraged to apply promptly.

Background of the Initiative

This initiative was launched following the Supreme Court's directive on March 29, 2023, which aims to ensure that genuine investors from four Sahara Group cooperative societies—Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited (Kolkata), Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited (Lucknow), Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited (Bhopal), and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (Hyderabad)—receive their funds back.

Eligibility for Re-submission

The CRCS Sahara Re-submission Refund Portal is exclusively for investors whose applications were rejected due to payment issues or missing documents. Investors who received a deficiency message on the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal can log in using their 14-digit Claim Request Number (CRN). New investors filing claims for the first time must register at https://mocrefund.crcs.gov.in. Only applications that have surpassed 45 days are eligible for re-submission.

Steps for Re-submission

To initiate the re-submission process, users must visit the CRCS portal. They will need to enter their 14-digit CRN and complete a CAPTCHA to log in. The system will verify the CRN against the linked Aadhaar number. If the CRN is valid, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number associated with the Aadhaar. In cases where the CRN is invalid, investors will be required to enter their 12-digit Aadhaar number.
