The Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi Mandi celebrated the installation of its new leadership for the Rotary year 2026–27 during a formal ceremony held at a local hotel on Saturday evening, adhering to Rotary traditions.


Rtn. Akhilesh Bharti has taken on the role of President, while Rtn. Jaspal Singh has been appointed as the Club Secretary.


The ceremony was officiated by District Governor Elect (2027–28) Rtn. Vijay Sahdev, who was joined by Rtn. Surinder Multani. Assistant Governor Rtn. Saroj Gautam also attended, offering her best wishes to the newly appointed team.


The event showcased the spirit of fellowship within Rotary, with representatives from nearby clubs in attendance. Notable attendees included Rtn. Umesh Gautam from the Rotary Club of Sundernagar, Rtn. Rakesh Sen (President) and Rtn. Naresh Kumar (Secretary) from the same club, as well as Rtn. Dharmender Rana, Rtn. Tara Sen (President), and Rtn. Jivanand (Secretary) from the Rotary Club of Mandi, among others.


Outgoing President Rtn. Dr. Hemlata welcomed the guests and highlighted the club's significant service projects and accomplishments from the past year. She also honored Installation Officer Rtn. Vijay Sahdev and other dignitaries.


The Annual Report was presented by outgoing Secretary Rtn. Renu Gulati, detailing the club's activities and community service efforts over the previous year.


During his address, District Governor Elect Rtn. Vijay Sahdev emphasized the unique opportunity Rotary provides for serving society and making a positive impact. He encouraged clubs to pursue larger, impactful projects by leveraging Rotary Foundation Global Grants in collaboration with other clubs. He stressed the importance of continuous learning and fostering fellowship, describing Rotary as a harmonious blend of service and camaraderie.


He further discussed Rotary's core values, organizational structure, and humanitarian mission, urging the club to initiate a flagship community project that could attract both District Grants and Rotary Foundation Global Grants. He noted that while maintaining existing projects is crucial, launching a landmark initiative would enhance the Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi Mandi's identity and recognition. He called on members to actively promote Rotary's image and raise public awareness of its contributions to society.


Following his installation, President Rtn. Akhilesh Bharti shared his vision for the 2026–27 Rotary year, reaffirming his commitment to the motto of 'Service Above Self.' He outlined plans for meaningful community service projects aligned with Rotary's monthly themes and expressed the goal of implementing at least one major project that would have a lasting societal impact. He emphasized the importance of member participation and announced plans for regular family fellowship programs to strengthen bonds among members.


A significant moment of the evening was the induction of four new members into the Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi Mandi, conducted by Rtn. Vijay Sahdev. The new inductees included Dr. Sushil Sharma, former Chief Medical Officer; Mrs. Seema Sharma, retired Principal; local businessman Mr. Yogesh Sharma; and Mrs. Mamta Sharma.


The ceremony was attended by Assistant Governor Rtn. Saroj Gautam and representatives from various Rotary clubs in the region. Members from the Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi Mandi included Charter President Rtn. Munish Sood, Rtn. Anuradha Sood, Club Treasurer Rtn. Kiranbir Singh, President-Elect Rtn. Sudarshan Kaur, Past President Rtn. Anupama Singh, and many others.
