New developments have emerged in the gang rape case involving an athlete in Varanasi, with the victim's mother claiming that her daughter was assaulted by 23 individuals between March 29 and April 4.

The victim's father reported to the authorities that his daughter was gang-raped while being transported in a moving vehicle. The distressing situation has taken a toll on the father’s health.

Following the complaint lodged by the victim's mother, the Lalpur Pandeypur police have initiated legal action against 12 identified individuals and 11 others who remain unknown. So far, six suspects have been apprehended. According to the FIR, the victim had visited a friend's house on March 29, where her friend Raj Vishwakarma allegedly assaulted her at a café. Subsequent incidents occurred on March 31 and April 1, involving multiple perpetrators.

The victim's mother recounted that after leaving the hotel, her daughter encountered a man named Imran, who took her to another hotel and assaulted her. Sajid then allegedly brought her to a warehouse where he and his associates continued the abuse. Afterward, the victim was seen at IP Mall Sigra, where a young man named Raj Khan reportedly mixed drugs into her chowmein before assaulting her. The following day, additional assaults were committed by Danish, Sohail, and Shoaib. The police are actively investigating these serious allegations.
