New Developments in Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case: Eyewitness Account Emerges

Eyewitness Testimony Unveils New Details

Shillong, June 15: A significant development has occurred in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder investigation as a crucial eyewitness has stepped forward, sharing her brief encounter with the main suspect, Sonam Raghuvanshi, during her escape in Uttar Pradesh. The eyewitness, Ujala Yadav, described Sonam as appearing calm and collected while traveling from Varanasi to Ghazipur, even advising her against following news reports related to the case.

In an exclusive interview from Uttar Pradesh, Yadav recounted meeting Sonam at the Varanasi Cantt bus station around 10:30 PM on June 7.

“She was dropped off by two masked individuals. Although I couldn't hear their conversation, they left after a brief exchange. Sonam then took a seat next to me on the bus,” Yadav explained.

Yadav noted that while enjoying mango juice, Sonam inquired about her travel plans and asked for directions to Gorakhpur.

“She seemed very relaxed, as if she had nothing to fear,” Yadav remarked. However, the situation changed when Yadav began to check news updates about the murder case on her phone.

“Sonam advised me against following such pointless news,” Yadav added.

Initially, Yadav did not recognize Sonam due to her covered face. “I later identified her from the arrest photos circulating on social media,” Yadav stated.

While Yadav was headed to Saidpur near Ghazipur, Sonam exited the bus at Ghazipur and turned herself in to the authorities.

After recognizing Sonam in the news, Yadav reached out to Raja Raghuvanshi’s family. She discovered Raja and Sonam’s wedding invitation on social media, which facilitated her connection with the deceased’s brother, Sachin Raghuvanshi.

In the meantime, the Raghuvanshi family has called for a narco test for Sonam and the other suspects involved in the case.

Sachin, speaking from Indore, expressed the family's belief that Sonam and her accomplices are concealing vital information.

“Sonam remained in Indore for 14 days following the alleged murder. She must have received assistance. We need to identify these individuals,” Sachin emphasized.

He also questioned the identities of the two men who dropped Sonam off at the Varanasi bus station.

“According to Ujala Yadav, those men are not among the arrested suspects. Who are they? Sonam must disclose their identities. We are demanding a narco test to reveal the complete truth,” he added.

As more details unfold in this case, investigators are expected to concentrate on identifying those who may have aided Sonam during her time in hiding, particularly the two masked men seen at the bus station.

The push for a narco test may heighten the pressure on the accused as the family continues to seek justice.
