Investigation Takes a New Turn

The inquiry into the suspected mass burial at Dharmasthala has taken an unexpected turn as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrived in Bengaluru with a key figure known as 'Maskman' Chinnaiah. The team examined three locations that Chinnaiah visited earlier this year, which are thought to be linked to his activities.

One significant location is a rented residence in Mallasandra, registered under T Jayanth's name. Jayanth is known to have connections with Mahesh Shetty Timmarodi, a self-proclaimed social activist from Dakshina Kannada. Chinnaiah revealed that he stayed at this residence in April, prompting the SIT to conduct an investigation there. Currently, Jayanth's family resides in the house.

According to sources, this is the location where Chinnaiah first brought a skull, which was later handed over to the SIT. Following this, Chinnaiah and Jayanth traveled to Delhi to escalate the matter to the Supreme Court. In a statement to the media outside the SIT office in Belthangady, Jayanth confirmed that Chinnaiah visited him with the skull. 'I picked him up from the Satellite bus stand on Mysore Road. He mentioned he had a skull in his bag for investigation. We took it to a quiet area to photograph it before heading to Delhi to meet officials regarding the Supreme Court,' Jayanth explained. He emphasized that he assisted Chinnaiah with good intentions and is not involved in any conspiracy, expressing his willingness to face legal consequences if found guilty by the SIT.

Jayanth noted that this was Chinnaiah's third visit to his Mallasandra home, adding, 'My family lives there, and I had no idea the situation would escalate like this.'

Sources indicate that the SIT plans to inspect two additional residences in Bengaluru, one located in Sahakarnagar (Hebbal) and another in Kamakshipalya (Magadi Road). 'The SIT was at Jayanth's Mallasandra house until Saturday night, and the other two locations may be visited on Sunday,' a source revealed.
