COVID-19 Cases Rise in Patna

Amid growing concerns over a resurgence of COVID-19, Patna, the capital of Bihar, has reported seven new cases of the virus, which include healthcare workers from AIIMS-Patna. This uptick in infections has prompted hospitals across the state to go on high alert, with precautionary measures being swiftly implemented. Among the newly infected are a female doctor, a nurse, and another staff member from AIIMS-Patna, all currently receiving treatment under the supervision of senior doctors.


Additional Cases Confirmed

At Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH), two more patients have tested positive, while a 42-year-old man from the RPS Mor area was also confirmed positive after testing at a private lab in Raja Bazaar. According to Civil Surgeon Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh, the city now has a total of nine active COVID-19 cases. Three of these patients have been hospitalized, while the remaining six are under home isolation. In light of the rising cases, hospitals are preparing for a potential increase in patients.


Health Workers' Reassignment in Uttar Pradesh

During the COVID pandemic, the reassignment of temporary, short-term, contractual, and outsourced personnel in various districts of Uttar Pradesh has received approval. These are employees who were overlooked in previous reassignments. The Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister, Brajesh Pathak, stated that these personnel are being reassigned to different health units. Previously, many workers had already been reassigned to various health facilities.
