On Tuesday, the Netherlands revealed their team for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier, which is set to occur in Nepal from January 12 to February 1, 2026. A total of ten teams will vie for four spots in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, to be held in England and Wales, with the teams divided into two groups of five, as per the ICC's official announcement.

Coach's Confidence in the Team

Neil MacRae, the head coach, expressed confidence in the squad, highlighting its mix of experience and recent strong performances. He stated, "We have chosen a seasoned team for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in Nepal."

MacRae also pointed out the Dutch team's commendable performance at the ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy 2025 in Thailand, where they secured third place. He added, "The squad is eager to seize the chance to qualify for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup after showcasing strong performances in Thailand."

Sterre Kallis emerged as the leading scorer for the team, amassing 239 runs in seven innings, while Frederique Overdijk topped the wicket-takers list. Both players are expected to continue their impressive form.

Qualification Journey

The Netherlands earned their spot in the Global Qualifier by finishing second in the 2025 Division One Europe Qualifier, securing one of the two available spots for Europe.
