New Delhi, June 21: As over 20 lakh students prepare to take the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination due to an alleged paper leak, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan extended his best wishes to the candidates, encouraging them to approach the exam with confidence.
In a press briefing, the Minister expressed his trust in the National Testing Agency (NTA), state governments, district administrations, and the overall education framework of India, particularly emphasizing the students' capabilities.
“With nearly 22 lakh students set to take the NEET exam, I urge you to remain calm and assured. You will perform excellently. My heartfelt wishes are with all of you. The faith students have in our system is commendable, and I hope it remains steadfast,” he stated.
However, Pradhan cautioned against any actions that could jeopardize the future of the youth, stating, “We must not trivialize this situation. It is crucial to avoid anything that could harm the mental well-being of our children. With exams approaching, I want to highlight that some individuals have acted irresponsibly with harmful intentions.”
He appealed to those in positions of responsibility to act with integrity, saying, “If you consider yourselves accountable citizens of India, please take your responsibilities seriously. Do not add to the challenges faced by our children. This is a sincere request.”
Additionally, Pradhan noted that the results for over 15 lakh students who sought re-evaluation of their CBSE Class 12 board exam scores are finalized and will be announced shortly.
“The process is nearly complete; the CBSE will soon release the re-verified marks. We are committed to ensuring accuracy,” he assured.
Meanwhile, the NTA shared information on social media regarding the entry times for students at the examination venues.
“Entry starts at 11:00 AM, with the last entry at 1:30 PM (no entry permitted after this time),” they stated.
Students are reminded to bring essential items such as their admit card, a valid photo ID, and two passport-sized photographs. The agency also advised candidates to avoid carrying prohibited items and to stay hydrated, plan for traffic, and arrive early at their respective examination centres.
