NEET-UG 2025: Strict Security Measures in Place for Odisha Medical Entrance Exam

Overview of NEET-UG 2025 in Odisha
On Sunday, the NEET-UG medical entrance examination took place in Odisha under stringent security protocols, as confirmed by officials. The test was conducted at 27 locations throughout the state, starting at 2 PM and wrapping up by 5 PM.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) organized the NEET UG-2025, which is essential for students seeking admission to MBBS programs. To ensure security, CCTV cameras were set up at all examination venues, and senior police personnel oversaw the arrangements.
S Dev Datta Singh, the police commissioner for Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, along with Deputy Commissioner of Police Jagmohan Meena, inspected several centers in the city to assess security measures. A total of 32 centers were utilized for the examination in Bhubaneswar.
Singh stated, "Comprehensive security measures were implemented. All candidates underwent thorough screening before entering the examination centers, including biometric verification. There was no opportunity for malpractice."
However, an incident occurred when a female candidate became distressed after being denied entry due to a delay. She claimed she arrived punctually but was asked to provide a clearer photocopy of her Aadhaar or class-10 certificate, which led to her being late.
She recounted, "I was delayed by two minutes due to an accident on my way. Despite my pleas, they would not let me take the exam."
In contrast, the examination proceeded smoothly in other cities across the state, with no reports of cheating or misconduct.
On Saturday, police apprehended four individuals from an interstate gang accused of soliciting large sums from NEET aspirants for guaranteed admission into MBBS programs, charging between Rs 20 to Rs 30 lakh per candidate.
