Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that starting next year, the NEET examination will be conducted in a computer-based format. He stated that the admit cards for the NEET re-examination scheduled for June 21 will be issued by June 14. Candidates will have the option to select their examination centers, and those taking the re-exam will receive an additional fifteen minutes to complete their tests.
During a press conference, Pradhan emphasized that a crucial issue will be addressed next year, as the NEET exam will transition from using OMR sheets to a computer-based testing system.

The Education Minister reiterated that candidates for the NEET re-examination will be able to choose their testing centers. The admit cards for the NEET re-exam in 2026 will be made available by June 14, with the examination taking place on June 21.
He acknowledged that new challenges are emerging in this technological era, with various social media platforms spreading misleading information and attempting to create confusion. There have also been attempts to openly challenge and disrupt the re-examination process. In light of these issues, the government has promptly referred the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Pradhan expressed full confidence in the CBI and the agencies working alongside it, stating that the government and its leadership are taking this matter seriously and are closely monitoring the situation. He warned those spreading fear and unrest to stay away from the upcoming examination process, or they would face consequences.

Candidates participating in the NEET re-examination will be granted an extra fifteen minutes. Pradhan confirmed that there will be no application fee for the NEET re-examination. The admit card for NEET will be issued by June 14, and a new admit card will be reissued for the re-examination.
