Neeraj Chopra Surprises Fan with VVIP Experience
Neeraj Chopra, a two-time Olympic medalist, has once again captured the admiration of many with his kindness and humility. Ahead of the inaugural Neeraj Chopra Classic scheduled for July 5 at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, he made a special gesture for a fan.
Ranjit Kumar Ravichandran, a javelin throw enthusiast from Coimbatore, had taken to social media to express his wish to attend the NC Classic, seeking assistance of ₹2000 to cover his expenses. His post quickly gained traction, garnering significant public support.
Neeraj's reply, shared on X (formerly Twitter), left Ranjit and fans nationwide in awe. In his tweet, Neeraj extended an invitation for a VVIP experience and arranged accommodation at Radisson Hotels, a partner of the NC Classic.
Hi, Ranjith. You've got a full VVIP experience waiting for you in Bengaluru because your trip to the @nc_classic is on me! 😊

And thanks to @RadissonHotels, you'll be staying about 90 metres away from me. See you soon! 😉 https://t.co/aQvkNEnLry
This thoughtful act by Neeraj not only showcases his compassion but also embodies the spirit of the NC Classic, which is India's first World Athletics Category 'A' javelin throw tournament aimed at making the sport more accessible. The event will feature 12 elite javelin throwers, including renowned athletes like Paris Olympics silver medalist Anderson Peters and former world champion Julius Yego. Tickets can be purchased through Zomato's District platform.
Recently, Neeraj clinched the title at the 64th Ostrava Golden Spike competition with a throw of 85.29 meters, marking his 24th consecutive top-2 finish. Earlier, he delivered an impressive throw of 88.16 meters at the Paris Diamond League.
Under the guidance of his new coach, Jan Zelezny, the world record holder in men's javelin throw, Neeraj achieved a personal milestone by surpassing 90 meters for the first time at the Doha Diamond League, where he finished second.
Neeraj's ongoing achievements and his down-to-earth demeanor have established him as not only a remarkable athlete but also a significant source of inspiration for the youth across the nation.
