In the absence of the reigning champion Neeraj Chopra, who was sidelined due to injury, Yashvir Singh and Rohit Yadav stepped up, clinching silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the men's javelin throw at the Asian Games 2026 held on Monday.

Results of the Men's Javelin Throw

Sri Lanka's Rumesh Pathirage, the top thrower of the season, secured the gold medal with an impressive throw of 88.55 meters. Yashvir Singh achieved a personal best of 85.72 meters to earn silver, while Rohit Yadav took home the bronze with a throw of 84.35 meters.

Neeraj Chopra was unable to participate in the Asian Games due to an injury sustained before his trip to Japan, leaving India without its two-time defending champion, who had previously won gold at the Hangzhou 2022 Games. The competition also featured Pakistan's Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem, making the men's javelin throw one of the most anticipated events in the athletics lineup.
