NDA's Upcoming Parliamentary Meeting: Key Legislative Discussions Ahead
NDA's 'Mangal Milan' Meeting Scheduled
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has named its parliamentary party meeting on July 21 as 'Mangal Milan'. This gathering is set to take place at 9:30 AM in the GMC Balayogi Auditorium of the Parliament Library, with all NDA MPs from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha expected to attend. Given the government's legislative agenda, this meeting is considered crucial. According to Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, several significant bills are anticipated to be discussed during the monsoon session, which will last until August 13.
Political Debates Expected Amid Recent Changes
With recent shifts in various opposition parties, a vigorous political debate is expected during this session. These political changes in recent weeks may influence parliamentary proceedings. The opposition plans to raise several issues, including the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and comments made by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh regarding deaths during 'Operation Sindoor'. The Congress party has issued a notice against the Defence Minister for breach of privilege concerning his remarks.
Constitutional Amendment Bill Under Review
Additionally, the Joint Parliamentary Committee is expected to approve its report on the proposed 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill on July 17, which will then be presented in Parliament. This bill has sparked political discussions due to a provision stating that if the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, or any central or state minister is in judicial custody for serious offenses for more than 30 days, they will automatically be removed from their position.
