NCC Cadets Enhance Skills at Awareness Training Session in Nurpur

Successful Training Session for NCC Cadets

A comprehensive one-day training and awareness program for NCC cadets took place at Government Arya Degree College, Nurpur, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur. The initiative was designed to bolster the cadets' military capabilities, raise environmental consciousness, and prepare them for disaster management.


Havildar Yashpal and Havildar Rakesh Kumar from the 9 HP Battalion NCC in Dalhousie conducted hands-on training sessions covering weapon handling, FCBC, map reading, position-finding techniques, and drill scout evaluations. The cadets engaged actively, acquiring essential knowledge on various military topics.


Following this, Captain Surjit Kumar, the college's ANO, delivered a motivating talk on the importance of environmental conservation, encouraging cadets to take their roles in promoting cleanliness and sustainability seriously.


In the final segment, Dr. Satya Prakash, an Assistant Professor of Geography, addressed disaster preparedness in light of the upcoming Southwest Monsoon 2026. He elaborated on how monsoons form and discussed potential hazards like increased runoff, flash floods, cloudbursts, and landslides, along with strategies for prevention.


The program saw participation from 64 NCC cadets, concluding with a strong encouragement for ongoing involvement in future training opportunities.
