NCC 9 HP Battalion Receives Official Inspection from Brigadier Harpreet Singh
Focus on Military Discipline and Training Excellence

The NCC 9 HP Battalion in Dalhousie recently welcomed Group Commander Brigadier Harpreet Singh for an official inspection. Upon his arrival, Senior Division cadets from Arni University honored him with a formal Guard of Honour, showcasing their commitment and extensive training.
The event began with an insightful briefing by Commanding Officer Colonel J.S. Kaushal, who discussed the NCC's contributions and the unique challenges faced in the Chamba district. He pointed out that the NCC is empowering youth from remote areas like Bharmour, Tissa, Chamba, Kakira, Indora, and Nurpur, equipping them with military skills, discipline, leadership, and a sense of national duty.
Several Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) presented reports detailing school activities, achievements, and training initiatives. Brigadier Harpreet Singh commended the cadets for their exceptional performance, honored them, and conducted a thorough inspection of the parade.
During his speech, Brigadier Singh emphasized the fundamental military values of discipline, dedication, leadership, and patriotism. He described the NCC as a vital platform for molding youth into responsible citizens. He instructed the Permanent Instructor staff to focus on high-quality, rigorous, and practical training to ensure cadets are well-prepared for future challenges. He also highlighted the significance of disaster management and life skills training.
Additionally, three ANOs were promoted to the rank of Second Officer: Sefali from Vijay Memorial School, Sunil Kumar from Govt. Senior Secondary School Dalhousie, and Naresh from Kendriya Vidyalaya Chamera. The event also saw the presence of Arni University’s SD Lieutenant Rohit Kumar.
The gathering included Colonel J.S. Kaushal, Administrative Colonel B.J.S. Sindhu, Subedar Joginder, Subedar Surinder, Havildar Rajinder Kumar, along with the entire Permanent Instructor staff.
