CJP Calls for Nationwide Demonstrations

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a call for peaceful protests across the nation on July 24, urging citizens to organize demonstrations in every district. This decision comes as the party rejected the government's proposal for discussions, insisting that any dialogue must occur at a neutral location.

The CJP criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent statements regarding measures against paper leaks, arguing that they failed to address accountability or their primary demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in light of the NEET paper leak.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh reiterated the government's invitation for talks, suggesting a meeting could take place at the residence or office of Union Health Minister JP Nadda. However, CJP leaders declined this offer, maintaining their stance on a neutral venue.

In anticipation of the protests, the CJP has adopted the slogan "Every district. One day. One demand," encouraging participants to voice their demands and show solidarity with those affected by the police actions in Delhi on July 20.

As the protests at Jantar Mantar evolve, security measures in the capital have intensified, with ongoing restrictions around the protest area and increasing political scrutiny regarding the police's actions on July 20.

Heavy security continues to surround the protest site, causing significant traffic disruptions in central Delhi for the second day in a row. Seventeen Delhi Metro stations were closed on Thursday, impacting commuters and local businesses, while mobile internet services were suspended in parts of central Delhi until midnight within a 1.5 km radius of Jantar Mantar.

Traffic restrictions and barricades have led to congestion on major roads near Connaught Place, ITO, Parliament Street, and India Gate, with many commuters experiencing long delays.

Despite these restrictions, the protest site has seen an increase in attendees, with demonstrators chanting slogans against the government, including Prime Minister Modi.

The CJP has alleged that efforts are being made to disrupt their protests. Founder Abhijeet Dipke claimed that "outsiders" and "BJP goons" were being sent to incite disturbances and later blame the protesters, a claim that has been denied by the BJP.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das shared a video on social media that purportedly shows plain-clothed individuals wielding batons and threatening protesters.

He alleged that one such individual attacked the father of a minor protester at Jantar Mantar and called for the Delhi Police to apply stricter legal measures, including the SC/ST Act where applicable, and to detain the assailants.

Authorities are investigating whether "outsiders" and "habitual offenders" infiltrated the protests and contributed to the violence.

Multiple teams have been established to identify those responsible for assaults on security personnel and damage to public property, according to a source within the Delhi Police.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali Angmo, expressed her distress over the negative portrayal of students and questioned why their intentions were being scrutinized rather than their concerns being heard.

In a post on X, she urged against linking the ongoing student protests at Jantar Mantar to unrelated violent incidents in Delhi, emphasizing that the movement has remained peaceful.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi posted on X, asserting that the welfare of the nation's youth is his government's top priority and that anyone attempting to jeopardize their future will face consequences.

He announced the establishment of fast-track courts to ensure prompt and severe punishment for those involved in paper leaks.

Opposition leaders and CJP representatives quickly responded, claiming that the Prime Minister's comments overlooked the students' concerns regarding alleged examination irregularities and the police's actions against demonstrators.

They emphasized the need to focus on addressing student demands and ensuring accountability for the crackdown on July 20.

The Delhi Police stated that force was used to enforce prohibitory orders and prevent protesters from advancing toward Parliament, denying allegations of excessive force.

They also refuted claims made by former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding a potential crackdown on protesters at Jantar Mantar.

The New Delhi Traders Association (NDTA) advised all businesses in Connaught Place to close by 6:30 PM on Thursday due to the ongoing situation.

In the evening, several leaders from the Congress and INDIA bloc paid tribute to students who lost their lives due to paper leaks.

The opposition leaders gathered at Rahul Gandhi's residence on 5, Sunehri Bagh Road, reaffirming their support for the protesting students' demands.

From there, Rahul Gandhi led them to Gandhi Smriti on a bus.

Veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi also expressed support for the students, stating that their "anxieties and concerns" regarding the examination system are "genuine."

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti addressed the protesters at Jantar Mantar, commending the youth for enduring harsh weather while demanding justice and transparency in the examination process.
