After being closed for nearly 27 hours due to a significant rockslide at Lahal Dhank, the National Highway 154A, which links Chamba and Bharmaur, was reopened on Wednesday afternoon, much to the relief of local residents and travelers.
As reported by Junior Engineer Gajan Rana from the National Highway Authority, a large boulder fell onto the roadway around noon on Tuesday, halting all traffic. Thanks to persistent efforts, the road was cleared and reopened by 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
The closure caused considerable inconvenience for residents in the tribal area, with bus passengers having to switch vehicles mid-journey to reach their destinations. The reopening of the highway has brought much-needed relief to the community, who are grateful for the restored access.
