Investors Demand Justice in Nagaon


Nagaon, July 14: A new development has emerged in the online trading scam in Nagaon, as numerous investors gathered outside the home of Kashyap Phukan, one of the alleged perpetrators, on Sunday. The group, consisting of individuals who had invested in the Bulls Eyes trading firm, initially convened at Nehrubali field before marching to Phukan's residence in Morikolong, demanding the return of their funds.


The situation escalated, prompting a police response that led to Phukan being taken to the Nagaon police station to restore order. However, the frustrated investors soon followed, insisting on action against both Phukan and another suspect, Anirban Deori.


Investors reported that they had put substantial amounts of money into Bulls Eye, expecting significant returns, but have seen no profits.


In a press briefing, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Jayanta Baruah confirmed that Phukan was detained to ensure public safety.


Residents of Nagaon are calling for a comprehensive investigation into the scam, which reportedly involves crores of rupees. Many investors had committed between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 50 lakh to the online trading platform.


Authorities have yet to capture Anirban Deori, another major suspect in the case. Investors are urging immediate police action to recover their lost investments.
