Investigation Launched After Body Goes Missing

Bhadrak: A shocking incident has emerged from Bhadrak district in Odisha, where the body of a woman has reportedly vanished from a graveyard, leading local authorities to initiate an investigation.

This unsettling event took place in the village of Maninathpur, located within the jurisdiction of the Bhandaripokhari police station.

Last year, three bodies were also reported missing from the same burial site, raising suspicions among residents about a potential network involved in the illicit supply of corpses to private medical institutions for research purposes.

The deceased, Rukmani Samal, had passed away ten days prior, and in accordance with her community's traditions, she was interred in the graveyard.

However, when her family visited the site for the customary 10th-day ritual on Thursday, they were shocked to discover that the grave had been disturbed and the body was no longer there.

In response to this alarming discovery, the family promptly alerted the police, who have since commenced an investigation.
