Mysterious Deaths of Vikrant and Rakhi: A Tale of Love and Betrayal

Unraveling the Tragic Events

In the Baghpat area, the body of Vikrant, a resident of Prayagraj, was discovered on April 17. Subsequently, the remains of his girlfriend, Rakhi, were found in a canal near Nauganwa on April 27. The police began investigating Rakhi Kashyap after a missing person report was filed for Vikrant, who was the city mission manager for Duda.

Authorities summoned Rakhi for questioning, but they were unable to extract any information from her, leading to her release. However, they did confiscate her licensed firearm. Had the police managed to get the truth from Rakhi during the interrogation, it might have saved her life.

Vikrant, who lived in a rented house in Arjunpuram Colony with his wife Prachi and daughter, had been stationed in Baghpat since April 2018. He was last seen at his office on April 15, after which he returned to his room and failed to show up for work the following day.

When his colleagues couldn't reach him by phone, they alerted the authorities. On April 23, Vikrant's wife filed a missing person report. Investigations revealed a romantic relationship between Vikrant and Rakhi, supported by evidence of extensive phone conversations. When police contacted Rakhi for questioning, she remained tight-lipped and was subsequently released. Just a day later, she too went missing.

Financial Mysteries and Past Relationships

Before his disappearance, Vikrant had withdrawn four lakh rupees from his bank account, raising questions about the purpose of this transaction. Just days prior, his car had also caught fire under suspicious circumstances.

Rakhi, originally from Rajpur Khampur village, had been married before but had divorced her first husband. She entered a second marriage, which also ended in divorce, leading her to reside in various locations, including Khekra and Arjunpuram Colony, where she rented a room under the pretense of being a contractual worker for Duda.

Rakhi had a history of disputes with several individuals, and there were legal cases against her. Notably, she had a confrontation with a young man in the court premises just fifteen days prior to these events.

The Aftermath of Vikrant's Disappearance

Vikrant's wife, Prachi, works in the Irrigation and Water Resources Department in Noida and was at work when her husband went missing. Upon learning about Vikrant's murder, his colleagues were visibly shaken.

Before Vikrant's disappearance, a party was held at Rakhi's home, attended by both Vikrant and others. It was reported that during this gathering, Vikrant was shot. Rakhi later called the police control room, claiming that her husband had shot himself, but she abruptly ended the call. When contacted by police later, she dismissed the incident as a family dispute.

As the investigation progressed, names of BJP leader Suharas and his associate Kapil emerged in connection with Rakhi's murder. On Thursday, police conducted raids in Saharanpur, starting with the old town area to apprehend Kapil, followed by searches in various locations, questioning everyone who had been in contact with the suspects.
