Tragic Incident in Guwahati

A disturbing case has emerged involving the suspicious death of 22-year-old Nimiṣā Thakuriyā, a student at Guwahati University. Her body was discovered in a homestay located in the Azara area of the city. Authorities have apprehended 26-year-old Asif Ali, who was with her at the time. Midnight Call to Mother

A crucial element in this case appears to be Nimiṣā's last phone call to her mother. According to family friend Gautam Das, she called around 2 AM, reportedly crying and pleading for help, stating, "Mom, they will kill me."

After this call, the line went dead, and attempts to reach her again were unsuccessful. Some reports suggest that her phone was turned off shortly thereafter. The family alerted the police, prompting a search for her.

Found Unconscious at the Homestay

According to police reports, Nimiṣā was taken to a local health center in an unconscious state early Saturday morning. She was subsequently referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she was pronounced dead.

At the time of the incident, she was with Asif Ali at the homestay. Following the event, police detained Asif for questioning and are gathering information from the homestay's owner, caretaker, and staff.

Signs of Injury Discovered

Media reports indicate that Nimiṣā's body showed signs of injury. The police are currently investigating how these injuries occurred and the actual cause of her death. The post-mortem and forensic examinations are deemed critical for this case.

Boyfriend's Contradictory Claims

During questioning, Asif Ali provided a different account regarding the circumstances of her death.
