Mumbai Police Takes Strong Measures in Shooting Incident

In a significant development regarding the shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, the Mumbai police have escalated their response by invoking serious charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), 1999 against all suspects.

Previously, the case was registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act. Following a request for MCOCA application, the authorities granted approval on Tuesday, leading to this stringent action against the accused.

The shooting occurred on October 18 in the upscale Juhu area of Mumbai while Tiger Shroff was returning home from a football club. During this time, assailants on motorcycles fired five to six rounds at his moving vehicle before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, the actor narrowly escaped injury, although his driver and another individual sustained injuries.

In the aftermath, the Mumbai police launched a series of raids across various locations, including Sonipat in Haryana and Delhi. Initial investigations have identified suspects such as Rehan alias Sukka, Phool Singh, and Hrithik Kurmi alias Roshan, who have been apprehended. Authorities suspect that an organized criminal syndicate may be behind the attack, as Anil Pandit, linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the incident on social media. The police are now focused on tracing the source of the weapons used and uncovering the roles of various individuals involved in this criminal conspiracy.
