Mumbai Municipal Elections Heat Up as Thackeray Brothers Campaign Intensifies
Political Parties Gear Up for Mumbai Municipal Elections
All political factions are gearing up for the upcoming Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, ramping up their campaign efforts. The Thackeray brothers have entered the fray, aiming to reclaim their seat in the municipal body. Today, they will jointly tour the Sewri assembly constituency, a traditional stronghold for the Shiv Sena party. In this area, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray will visit local branches situated in Lalbagh, Parel, and Sewri. Instead of organizing large public rallies, the Thackeray brothers have opted to focus on direct visits to party branches. Reports suggest that their strategy emphasizes direct communication with party workers, organizational development, and strengthening local campaigns.
Concerns Over Maharashtra's Future
Raj Thackeray, leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), expressed concerns that the current government is transforming Maharashtra into a state akin to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. During a joint press conference with Uddhav Thackeray, he remarked that no government remains in power indefinitely. He urged those in power to reconsider their belief that they would never be ousted. Raj has been vocal about this issue for years, asserting that the state is being altered significantly. The joint manifesto includes various provisions aimed at benefiting the residents of Mumbai. After two decades, Raj Thackeray returned to the Shiv Sena headquarters, likening his experience to emerging from a long imprisonment, reminiscing about his deep-rooted connections and memories associated with the building.
