Dermatologist Scammed Over Bigg Boss Entry

In a startling incident, Dr. Abhineet Gupta, a dermatologist, was swindled out of Rs 10 lakh under the pretense of securing a place on the well-known reality show Bigg Boss. The doctor has filed a formal complaint at the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai.

At a recent press briefing in Mumbai, Dr. Gupta disclosed that in 2022, a man named Karan Singh approached him, encouraging him to audition for Bigg Boss while falsely claiming to have ties with the show's producers. Continuing his deceit, Karan requested money, leading Dr. Gupta to transfer Rs 10 lakh to him.

“He promised me one crore rupees, but I explained that I couldn't afford that amount. He then traveled to Mumbai and arranged for me to speak with his associates over the phone. He mentioned offering 60 lakh rupees and insisted on cash payments. He invited me to Mumbai for a meeting with Harish Shah, the Senior Vice President of Endemol Company,” Dr. Gupta recounted.

While awaiting a response from the Bigg Boss team, Dr. Gupta was shocked to discover that his name was absent from the official contestant list. When he confronted Karan about this, he was assured that he would be included as a wild card entry later in the season. Eventually, Karan claimed that Dr. Gupta would be considered for the next season instead. Realizing that his chances of participating were dwindling, Dr. Gupta decided to alert the authorities.

As reported by a media outlet, the police have initiated a case against the suspect under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code for fraud. Dr. Gupta expressed his desire for others to be informed about individuals like Karan to prevent them from falling victim to similar scams.
