Court Directs Action Against MLA

A special court in Mumbai has instructed the Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to file a First Information Report (FIR) against Shiv Sena legislator Mangesh Kudalkar concerning allegations of corruption and unauthorized construction on public land.

Judge Satyanarayan R. Navandar, presiding over cases involving MPs and MLAs, noted that the accusations against Kudalkar, who represents Kurla, are of a serious nature.

The court remarked, “At first glance, it appears that unauthorized construction has taken place on a plot reserved for facility services and gardens by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), which includes some commercial centers along with a hall.”

The judge further stated that since these structures are on public property, there seems to be some truth to the allegations regarding unauthorized construction. A resident from Kurla has lodged a complaint in court, claiming that Kudalkar, a member of the ruling coalition 'Mahayuti', has misused public funds allocated for the development of their constituency.
