The caller demanded a ransom of 25 lakh rupees and one kilogram of gold, stating that a contract had been placed on the businessman’s life. The caller further insisted on a larger sum to ensure the businessman’s safety. Alarmed by the threat, the businessman filed a complaint at the Goregaon police station. Based on this complaint, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

According to the businessman’s complaint, the caller claimed to be associated with the Bishnoi gang. The caller stated, 'We know you live in Juhu, your office is in Goregaon, and your factory is in Vasai. A contract has been placed on your life for 25 lakh rupees and one kilogram of gold.' When the businessman inquired about his alleged wrongdoing, the caller responded, 'We received a message from above. We know you have two daughters, and one of them has just arrived in Goregaon. Shooters have already been dispatched to your office in Goregaon, your factory in Vasai, and your home in Juhu.' The caller then demanded more money than the ransom to ensure the businessman’s safety. In response, the businessman offered to deliver the money to the Goregaon police station, at which point the caller abruptly hung up. The businessman promptly informed the police and shared all details of the call.

Following the report, DCP Sandeep Jadhav and Senior Police Inspector Suryakant Kharat from Goregaon police began tracing the number and launched a thorough investigation. To their surprise, they discovered that the threat had come from none other than the businessman’s own employee, identified as 26-year-old Tejas Selar. Tejas had reportedly lost 3 lakh rupees in online gaming and needed money to repay his debts.
