Mukul Choudhary Shares Insights from Virat Kohli on Game Finishing Skills
Mukul Choudhary Discusses Virat Kohli's Advice
Mukul Choudhary, a batter for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), recently revealed insights from his discussion with Virat Kohli, a renowned figure in Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Choudhary noted that Kohli emphasized that merely hitting sixes does not define a great batter, as many young players can achieve that feat today. The key, according to Kohli, lies in the ability to finish games under pressure, maintain composure during challenging chases, manage increasing required run rates, and lead the team to victory even when wickets are falling.
Kohli's Perspective on Finishing Matches
"During our conversation, Kohli mentioned that he observed my performance against KKR and appreciated how I concluded the game. He pointed out that hitting sixes is no longer a remarkable achievement, as many young batters can do it. The true challenge is mastering the art of finishing matches. Anyone can hit a six when the pressure is off, but in high-stakes situations, such as chasing totals of 170 or 180 with wickets tumbling, the real test emerges. Learning to manage that pressure, remain calm, and control the innings is what distinguishes a top player. Consistently finishing games is a rare talent, and he advised me to concentrate on that rather than just hitting big shots. His advice resonated with me," Choudhary shared on JioStar.
Choudhary's Stellar IPL 2026 Performance
In his debut season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Choudhary has made a significant impact with several crucial performances under pressure, including a standout match-winning display against KKR. He has participated in nine matches for LSG, accumulating 169 runs with an impressive average of 33.80. His highlight came in a match against Kolkata Knight Riders, where he scored an unbeaten 54, leading his team to victory.
Upcoming Match: LSG vs PBKS
Lucknow Super Giants are preparing for their final league match of the IPL 2026 season against Punjab Kings. With LSG already out of the playoff contention, this match is about pride and finishing the season positively to avoid a last-place finish. Conversely, for PBKS, the stakes are high as they sit fifth on the points table and must secure a win to keep their playoff aspirations alive, relying on other results on Sunday.
