MP Ramgopal Yadav Urges PM Modi to Leverage Relations to Halt Middle East Conflict
Call for Action on Middle East Conflict
On Monday, Ramgopal Yadav, a member of the Samajwadi Party, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to utilize his connections with the leaders of Israel and the United States to help end the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Speaking to reporters after Modi's address in the Lok Sabha, Yadav highlighted the negative impact of this conflict on India's economy and appealed to the Prime Minister to take action using his relationships with Israel, the U.S., and Iran, which he claimed have brought the world to the brink of destruction.
Criticism of Modi's Address
Yadav pointed out that the economies of India and several other nations have been severely affected. He emphasized that Modi should leverage his friendships with the Israeli Prime Minister and the U.S. President, along with India's long-standing ties with Iran, to work towards stopping the war, which he believes poses a global threat. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, criticized Modi for not mentioning the United States during his speech regarding the situation in West Asia.
Gandhi's Accusations Against Modi
Gandhi accused Modi of being completely under the influence of U.S. President Donald Trump. While addressing a tribal rights conference in Vadodara, he remarked, "I heard that the Prime Minister delivered a 25-minute speech. However, I can assure you that he cannot participate in debates in Parliament because he has compromised. Narendra Modi spoke for 25 minutes but did not utter a single word against the U.S. He is entirely under Trump's control."
Further Criticism from Congress
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari also criticized the Prime Minister's statements in the Lok Sabha, alleging that several critical issues were overlooked. He noted that Modi failed to mention the rising gas prices, highlighting the long queues for LPG cylinders. Tiwari stated, "The government was unprepared... You didn’t even say a word about the death of Iran's Supreme Leader; it will have far-reaching consequences for the country... Think about the nation's interests, not just the BJP's."
