Monsoon LIVE Update: With the monsoon season approaching, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a surge in rainfall activity. Starting June 25, isolated heavy showers are anticipated in Northwest India. Additionally, a warning has been issued for significant rainfall across various regions in Central, East, and Northeast India over the next week.


According to the latest announcement from the IMD, West Madhya Pradesh is set to experience intense rainfall today, while states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh will see rain from June 23 to 27. Residents in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh are urged to remain cautious as ongoing rain may cause traffic disruptions and waterlogging in several areas.


The monsoon is also predicted to reach parts of Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat starting today, with rainfall expected to persist until June 29, 2025. Furthermore, the IMD has indicated that conditions are favorable for the southwest monsoon to advance into the remaining regions of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, with the national capital likely to see monsoon rains by June 30.


A warning for isolated heavy rainfall has been issued for Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, and Haryana from June 25 to 27; Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan from June 24 to 29; West Rajasthan on June 24 and 25; East Uttar Pradesh on June 24, 28, and 29; and for Kerala and Karnataka from June 24 to 27. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are also expected to experience rainfall on June 27 and 28.
