Monsoon Session of Parliament Scheduled from July 21 to August 12

Parliament's Upcoming Monsoon Session
New Delhi, June 4: The Monsoon session of Parliament is set to take place from July 21 to August 12, as announced by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday.
The dates were recommended by the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This recommendation will be forwarded to the President for formal approval.
On the first day, both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will convene at 11 am, marking the first parliamentary gathering in over three months.
Rijiju emphasized that every session holds significance, stating that parliamentary rules allow for discussions on all crucial matters during the Monsoon session.
He added that the Business Advisory Committees of both Houses will determine the agenda and topics for discussion.
This session is anticipated to be politically intense, particularly with the Opposition's increasing calls for a special session regarding Operation Sindoor.
Recently, 16 opposition parties sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting an urgent session to address the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and the government's response through Operation Sindoor.
In light of this, the government has finalized the Monsoon Session schedule, ensuring that all concerns, including those from the Opposition, will be addressed during the session.
Earlier this year, the Budget Session occurred from January 31 to April 4 in two phases, during which several significant legislations were passed, including the Waqf Amendment Bill.
Additionally, the government approved the Tribhuvan Sahkari University Bill, 2025, aimed at establishing a university focused on education, training, and research in the cooperative sector.
The Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025, was also enacted to streamline laws concerning passports and travel documents for individuals entering and exiting India, as well as to regulate visa requirements and registration for foreigners.
