Monsoon Brings Relief and Challenges: IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall Ahead
Monsoon Weather Update
The arrival of the monsoon has been a welcome change, offering much-needed respite to various regions while also cooling down the temperatures. While many are celebrating the rains, others are facing disruptions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the rainy conditions are set to persist, with significant downpours anticipated in central and nearby northwest India over the next four to five days.
As climate change continues to escalate, residents should prepare for more frequent disturbances in their daily routines. The IMD has cautioned that such severe weather patterns could lead to the displacement of numerous individuals and inundate roads and homes. Citizens are advised to stay vigilant, as this year's rainfall distribution is both uneven and intense. Yellow and Red alerts have been issued for various states, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in regions including East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, West Uttar Pradesh, South Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh, and West Rajasthan.
In Delhi, the rainfall has been met with enthusiasm, as it has lowered temperatures and alleviated the oppressive heat and humidity. The IMD predicts that rain, along with thunderstorms and lightning, will continue in the capital until July 17. Additionally, southern states like Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh are forecasted to experience light showers over the next week. However, a warning for hot and humid weather has been issued for certain areas in East Assam on July 12, as well as for Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Rayalaseema until July 13.
