IMD Weather Update

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that monsoon conditions will persist in various parts of the country on Tuesday, July 22. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in several states as the monsoon trough currently extends through Jammu, Chandigarh, Sarsawa, Fatehgarh, Varanasi, Ranchi, and Digha. Additionally, an upper air cyclonic circulation over western Rajasthan, along with an east-west trough from north-central Karnataka to the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh, is affecting weather patterns in both northern and southern India.


Heavy Rainfall Alert For Multiple States

On July 22, isolated very heavy rainfall is forecasted for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in Northwest India, while Jammu and Kashmir will continue to experience heavy rain. States such as Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and West Uttar Pradesh can expect rainfall until July 24. The western Himalayan region is likely to see light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, over the next week.


Weather Forecast for West and South India

In West India, heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted for Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, and the Ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra from July 22 to 27. For South Peninsular India, the IMD has indicated heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Telangana today, while Kerala, Mahe, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema will receive light to moderate rain throughout the week. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in these areas over the next seven days, with strong surface winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h.


Rainfall in East, Central, and Northeast India

In East and Central India, states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha will see ongoing rainfall activity until July 27. Meanwhile, in Northeast India, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will experience rain with thunderstorms and lightning on Tuesday, while heavy rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya until July 24.


Weather Forecast For Delhi

The Delhi-NCR region is also set to witness increased rainfall this week. Very light rain is anticipated in Delhi, with a cloudy sky expected throughout the day. Maximum temperatures are likely to range between 32-34°C.
