Modi Government Celebrates 11 Years Amidst Tragedy in Maharashtra

Prime Minister Modi Reflects on NDA's 11-Year Tenure
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the completion of 11 years of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, emphasizing the administration's commitment to improving the lives of the underprivileged and fostering development for all. In contrast, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the Modi administration, sharing his thoughts on social media. He pointed out that while the government celebrates its 'service' over the past 11 years, the harsh reality is highlighted by a tragic incident in Mumbai where several individuals lost their lives after falling from a train.
Gandhi's Critique of the Modi Administration
Gandhi further remarked that the Indian Railways, which serves as a lifeline for millions, has become a symbol of insecurity, overcrowding, and chaos. He stated that the Modi government's 11 years have resulted in a lack of accountability and change, merely focusing on publicity. Instead of addressing current issues, the government seems to be selling dreams for 2047, he noted, expressing deep condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
Tragic Incident in Thane District
In a tragic event on Monday morning in Thane district, at least four passengers lost their lives after falling from an overcrowded moving train. A police official confirmed that six others sustained injuries in the incident. The accident occurred between the Diva and Kopar railway stations as a packed train was en route to Kasara. Railway officials indicated that the fatalities likely resulted from passengers hanging from the footboards of two crowded trains colliding as they passed each other.
Government Response to the Incident
Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his sorrow over the incident and assured that all necessary measures would be taken to assist the victims and their families. A statement from the Deputy Chief Minister's office revealed that the railway authorities have initiated an investigation into the accident. It was reported that the train was extremely crowded during peak hours, with many passengers standing near the doors. Officials noted that at least ten passengers fell from the moving train.
