Modi Criticizes RJD's Past Governance in Bihar Rally

Prime Minister Modi's Remarks on Bihar's Governance

During a rally in Karakat, Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, recalling a time when the state was plagued by what he termed 'jungle raj.' He emphasized that during this period, the rights of the poor were trampled upon, and land was forcibly taken from the powerless. Modi stated that people's lands were seized, and the rights of the impoverished were stripped away, making life unbearable in Bihar.

Continuing his critique, Modi pointed out that those who exploited Bihar the most are now falsely advocating for social justice to regain power. He highlighted that for decades, Dalits, backward classes, and tribal communities in Bihar lacked basic facilities like toilets and even bank accounts, which were inaccessible to them. He questioned whether this suffering was the kind of social justice that Congress and RJD represented.

The Prime Minister remarked that the previous government, led by Nitish Kumar, was dismissed, allowing Bihar to embark on a path of progress. He noted the transformation of infrastructure, mentioning the construction of four-lane highways and bridges over major rivers, contrasting it with the past when highways were in disrepair and rail connectivity was poor.

Modi asserted that the railway situation in Bihar is also improving rapidly, suggesting that such development could have occurred earlier if those responsible for modernizing the railways had not exploited the land of the poor. He warned the people of Bihar to remain vigilant against the falsehoods and deceit of jungle raj, reiterating that those who caused the most harm to Bihar are now the ones speaking about social justice.
