Mizoram Class 10 Exam Results Show Improvement with 80.31% Pass Rate
Mizoram Board Exam Results Announced
Aizawl, Apr 23: The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) has reported a rise in the pass percentage for the class 10 final examinations, reaching 80.31% this year, as officials revealed the results on Thursday.
In the previous year, the pass rate was recorded at 76.68% for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination conducted by the board.
This year, a total of 18,257 candidates participated in the exams held during February and March. Among the 8,448 boys who took the test, 81.16% successfully passed, while 79.59% of the 9,809 girls achieved the same.
Notably, the MBSE has decided to discontinue the publication of rankings, distinctions, or divisions starting this year.
Officials explained that this move aims to reduce competition among students and promote a focus on quality and competency in education.
State-aided schools excelled with a remarkable 96.92% success rate, while private institutions recorded an 89.38% pass rate. In contrast, state-run schools had a lower pass percentage of 72.02%.
A total of 146 schools achieved a perfect pass rate of 100%, whereas 13 schools reported no successful candidates.
Of the underperforming schools, ten are part of the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) initiative.
Among the 11 districts in the state, Siaha in south Mizoram topped the list with a pass percentage of 89.71%, followed closely by Serchhip at 89.49% and Hnahthial at 89.11%.
