Mithun Chakraborty's Strong Words Against Mamata Banerjee

BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty has taken aim at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, dismissing her recent comments regarding attacks on Bengali-speaking migrant workers in other states as unfounded. He accused her of instilling fear for political gain, asserting that she seeks to create controversy in every situation. Chakraborty emphasized that the Bengali language will remain unchanged and that Banerjee does not hold a monopoly over it. He vowed to fiercely oppose her claims.

The veteran actor criticized the Trinamool Congress leader for politicizing the issue and monopolizing discussions surrounding the identity of the Bengali language and its people. He reiterated that her attempts to create disputes would not succeed, stating, "The Bengali language will remain as it is. Mamata Banerjee does not have exclusive rights over it. We will confront this head-on." His remarks came shortly after Banerjee accused that Bengali migrant workers in states like Gujarat and Maharashtra were facing harassment, warning against the BJP's so-called linguistic terrorism during a public rally.

Chakraborty also urged his party members to protest against the alleged removal of minority and migrant voters' names from the electoral rolls in West Bengal and neighboring Bihar, which included a call to 'surround' election commission offices. Responding sharply to Banerjee's call for protests, he stated, "The election commission must take action. Fake and fraudulent voters need to be removed for fair elections. What will be achieved by surrounding the commission? What is the point of such protests?"
