Minor Girl Alleges Sexual Assault and Blackmail in Kolkata

Kolkata, May 23: A young schoolgirl from the Behala region of south Kolkata has reported being sexually assaulted and blackmailed for over a month by a female classmate and an unidentified male, according to police statements made on Saturday.
The situation came to light after the girl's family filed a complaint with law enforcement on Saturday.
As per police reports, the minor was allegedly taken into a vehicle by her female classmate and an unknown male. She was reportedly drugged with chocolate, taken to a secluded area, and sexually assaulted by the male while her classmate recorded the incident.
For more than a month, the victim claims she was blackmailed with the video, facing threats that it would be shared on social media if she spoke out.
The family became aware of the situation when the girl, in distress, confided in her mother, leading to a formal complaint against her classmate and the unidentified male at the Sarshuna police station in the southern outskirts of Kolkata. Following this, authorities have initiated an investigation and are reviewing various CCTV recordings.
According to police, the assault occurred approximately a month ago. The victim met the male suspect through her school friend, who persuaded her to leave school with them. The classmate arranged for a car, which was driven by the unidentified male. The vehicle was parked a short distance from the school, and the classmate led the victim to it. The family alleges that the girl was enticed with drug-laced chocolate.
The female classmate involved is also a minor. Authorities are actively searching for the male suspect and are working to identify the vehicle by examining CCTV footage from the vicinity of the school.
