Minister Reviews Tribal Development Initiatives in Bharmour

Meeting on Integrated Tribal Development

Mahinder Patyal, the Minister for Revenue, Horticulture, Tribal Development, and Public Grievances, convened a session of the Integrated Tribal Development Project Advisory Committee at the Mini Secretariat in Patti. The local MLA and vice-chair of the committee, Dr. Janak Raj, was also in attendance.

During the meeting, Negi instructed officials to pinpoint sensitive areas along National Highway 154A and other significant tribal routes for potential tunnel construction. He urged the National Highways Authority and the Public Works Department (PWD) to accelerate their efforts.

To enhance the experience for pilgrims during the Shri Manimahesh Yatra, it was agreed that the Forest Department would create a new footpath from Hadsar to Yamkund, located near Tosh Goth, with the PWD tasked with preparing the necessary estimates.

While reviewing various road projects, the minister emphasized the importance of ensuring all revenue entries are accurate. Officials reported that under the PMGSY Phase IV initiative, surveys in 76 villages have resulted in the construction of 17 roads valued at ₹130 crore, with Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) prepared for an additional 15 roads and processes initiated for 44 more. Furthermore, DPRs for 15 bridges, costing ₹183 crore, have been finalized.

Negi also evaluated initiatives under the CAMPA and CAT plans, directing afforestation efforts on dumping sites and vacant lands. He expressed concern over the current practices in horticulture and agriculture, urging departments to collaborate on awareness camps to help farmers, orchardists, and livestock owners take advantage of government schemes. Additionally, he instructed the administration to ensure that essential medicines are available at the Civil Hospital in Bharmaur.

The meeting also reviewed advancements in water supply, electricity, transportation, fisheries, rural development, youth services, and tourism. Negi stressed the need for inter-departmental cooperation to expedite development and ensure that benefits reach those who are eligible.
