Mishra mentioned that the State Quality Monitor (SQM) system will independently assess the quality of development schemes and infrastructure projects within municipal areas, ensuring compliance with established standards, transparency, and accountability in construction activities.

In the meeting, the minister placed special emphasis on disaster management and urban preparedness. He directed that each municipal corporation be equipped with modern machinery and essential resources to effectively respond to potential disasters and emergencies. Mishra asserted that strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) at the municipal level is crucial. This includes managing waterlogging and floods, regular cleaning of drains, adherence to building regulations, enhancing fire safety measures, developing early warning systems, and conducting awareness and training programs at the ward level.
