New Delhi: In response to escalating tensions following coordinated military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran, major airlines including Air India, Air India Express, and IndiGo have announced the suspension of flights to and from the Middle East.

Air India confirmed that all its flights to various destinations in the Middle East have been halted due to the ongoing situation in the region.

The airline stated, "Given the current developments in the Middle East, we have suspended all flights to all destinations in the region."

This decision comes as the U.S. and Israel have initiated significant military operations in Iran, raising alarms about a potential escalation of conflict with far-reaching geopolitical and economic implications.

Air India emphasized its commitment to ensuring the utmost safety for its passengers and crew, stating that it will continuously evaluate the security landscape for flight operations and make necessary adjustments. Passengers are encouraged to verify their flight status online or reach out to the airline's 24/7 customer service.

Similarly, Air India Express announced the suspension of all westbound international flights due to the evolving situation in the Gulf region.

A spokesperson for the airline remarked, "The safety and security of our guests and crew is our top priority," and noted that affected passengers are being contacted directly. Travelers are advised to check their flight status on the airline's website and utilize the 'Manage Booking' feature for any changes or cancellations.

IndiGo has also temporarily ceased operations to and from the Middle East, citing new airspace restrictions surrounding Iran and the broader region.

The airline stated, "Due to the evolving airspace restrictions around Iran and the Middle East, all flights to and from the region are canceled until midnight IST."

Sources indicate that IndiGo's services have been suspended for routes to Dubai, Jeddah, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Bahrain, Sharjah, Kuwait, and Ras Al-Khaimah.

The airline reassured that these measures are taken with the safety of passengers and crew as the highest priority, and that teams are actively monitoring the situation to minimize disruptions.
