Government Inquiry into Meta's Actions
On Tuesday, sources revealed that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has summoned the Global Public Policy Head of Meta. This action follows the temporary removal of a Facebook post by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at the youth. The ministry has sought clarification from Meta regarding the removal of this post, which was published during student protests organized by the 'Cockroach People's Party' on July 23.

The video contained a message from the Prime Minister directed at the youth, promising stringent measures to prevent paper leaks. In response to the controversy, a Meta spokesperson stated that the post was removed by mistake and has since been restored. The video, uploaded on July 23, showcased PM Modi's message to 'Gen Z' during the student protests organized by the Cockroach People's Party (CJP).
During his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government would take decisive action against the issue of paper leaks. He reassured students that strict measures would be implemented to prevent examination paper leaks, including presenting stringent legal provisions before the Union Cabinet. He mentioned that directives have been issued to establish fast-track courts, and a draft law proposing severe penalties and special courts for paper leak cases will be presented to the Cabinet before being introduced in Parliament.

The Prime Minister also assured that the government has taken steps to ensure that the academic year of nearly 2.2 million students remains unaffected, stressing that nothing is more important than the welfare and future of the youth.
