Mercedes Mone Set for Triple Threat Title Match at NJPW Resurgence
Mercedes Mone's Upcoming Title Defense

Recently, it was revealed that Mercedes Mone will be making additional cross-promotional appearances with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). She is scheduled to defend her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship at the NJPW Resurgence event on May 9. The latest updates confirm that she will face two challengers in this title bout.
During the recent Windy City Riot event hosted by NJPW, AZM and Mina Shirakawa competed to become the top contender for Mone’s championship. The match saw both competitors incapacitated after Shirakawa executed a tornado DDT outside the ring.
Neither wrestler managed to return to the ring before the referee's 20-count, resulting in a double count-out decision. This outcome left both women frustrated and raised questions about who would ultimately challenge Mercedes Mone at the upcoming event.

Previously, at Sakura Genesis 2023, Mone also defeated AZM and Hazuki to maintain her IWGP Women’s title.
Next week, Mercedes Mone will also compete in the AEW Dynamite Spring Breakthru special, where she is set to participate in the semifinals of the Owen Hart Foundation women’s tournament. The winner of the quarterfinals match between Athena and Harley Cameron on Collision will face Mone in her hometown of Boston during the special Dynamite episode on April 16.
