Sangam Kumar Sahoo Takes Oath as Chief Justice


Sangam Kumar Sahoo, originally from Odisha, officially became the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court on Wednesday.


The oath-taking ceremony took place at Lok Bhavan in Patna, officiated by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan.


Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and various dignitaries were present at the event.


On January 1, the Central Government announced Justice Sahoo's appointment as Chief Justice.


Justice Sahoo completed his education at Stewart Science College and Cuttack Law College in Odisha, becoming an advocate in 1989 under the Orissa State Bar Council in Cuttack.


His legal career included practice in district courts, the High Court, consumer forums, and the Central Administrative Tribunal in Odisha.


He was appointed as a judge of the Orissa High Court on July 2, 2014.
