Measures Implemented for Safe and Organized Kanwar Yatra in Meerut
Preparations for the Upcoming Kanwar Yatra
The Meerut district administration is fully engaged in ensuring that the upcoming Kanwar Yatra is conducted in a peaceful, safe, and organized manner. On Monday, a crucial coordination meeting was held with approximately 250 DJ operators from the district. During this meeting, strict guidelines regarding the size of DJs and the songs played during the yatra were established. The administration made it clear that any DJ operators violating these rules would face severe legal consequences.
Guidelines for DJ Sizes
Due to the frequent accidents and risks associated with large and excessively tall DJs during the Kanwar Yatra, the administration has set a maximum size limit for DJs. The guidelines specify that:
Maximum Height: DJs must not exceed a height of 12 feet from the ground.
Maximum Width: The width of DJs is restricted to 10 feet.
Warning from Authorities: Officials emphasized that any operator found with a DJ exceeding the specified dimensions (12x10 feet) will have their equipment seized and face legal action.
Complete Ban on Provocative Songs and Obscenity
To maintain religious harmony and decorum during the yatra, strict instructions have been issued regarding song selection. DJ operators were clearly informed that:
Any provocative, objectionable, or inciting songs and announcements will be strictly prohibited.
There will be a complete ban on obscene songs and provocative slogans that could disrupt the atmosphere.
Operators must adhere to noise pollution control regulations and keep sound levels within prescribed limits.
Appeal for Cooperation for a Peaceful Yatra
The Meerut police and administrative officials have stated that the Kanwar Yatra is a significant religious event, and thus its sanctity and safety are paramount. The administration has urged DJ operators to comply with the regulations to help maintain order, ensuring that devotees (Kanwariyas) do not face any inconvenience or danger.
