Mayawati Critiques Opponents, Claims BSP as True Advocate for Bahujan Society

BSP's Commitment to Bahujan Society

On Sunday, Mayawati, the president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) and other opposition parties of having a significant gap between their words and actions. She asserted that only the BSP genuinely works for the welfare and upliftment of the Bahujan community.

Labeling the SP's coalition of backward classes, Dalits, and minorities as a mere 'illusion,' she claimed that these parties exploit the votes of these groups to form governments, only to neglect them afterward.

During a tribute ceremony at the BSP's central office in Lucknow, held in honor of the party's founder, Kanshiram, Mayawati emphasized that the BSP is the 'real party' dedicated to the interests and upliftment of the Bahujan society, following the principles of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Call to Action for Bahujan Community

Mayawati urged members of the Bahujan community to join the BSP and become true, honest, and 'missionary Ambedkarites,' advocating for the rights granted by Dr. Ambedkar in the Constitution for their welfare and upliftment.

She criticized the SP's coalition as a pure 'illusion,' stating that these parties, particularly the SP, exploit Dalits, backward classes, and Muslims at every level.

According to her, the SP only remembers these communities during elections, but once in power, they treat them with disdain, similar to other parties.

Warning Against Other Political Parties

Mayawati cautioned the Bahujan community to be wary of the SP, Congress, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that history shows these parties do little for the Bahujan society, focusing more on appearances than actual work.

She also appealed to the community to avoid parties that weaken their voting power by enticing them with promises of parliamentary and legislative positions, and to distance themselves from those who betray the party for personal gain.

Recognition for Kanshiram

The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh urged the current BJP-led government to promptly honor Kanshiram with the 'Bharat Ratna,' highlighting his historical contribution to creating an egalitarian society as envisioned in the Constitution.

Mayawati criticized the renaming of the 'Maniyavar Shri Kanshiram Urdu, Arabic, Persian University,' stating that expecting genuine welfare for the Bahujan society from parties with narrow, casteist, and communal mentalities is as futile as searching for water in a desert.

Reflecting on her tenure, she noted that the BSP believes in 'less talk and more action,' contrasting it with other parties that rely on empty promises and alluring declarations to mislead the public.

Tributes to Kanshiram

According to a statement from the party, BSP workers from 12 divisions gathered at the 'Maniyavar Shri Kanshiram Ji Memorial Site' in Lucknow to pay their respects.

Additionally, under Mayawati's direction, party members from six divisions in western Uttar Pradesh honored Kanshiram's statue at the 'National Dalit Inspiration Site' in Gautam Buddha Nagar.

The BSP's Rajasthan unit also held a zonal-level event in Bharatpur, where the party's national coordinator, Akash Anand, was the chief guest.
