Massive Fire Erupts in Ghaziabad Residential Complex, Eight Flats Damaged

Ghaziabad, April 29: A significant fire broke out in a flat located within a private residential society in Indirapuram, resulting in the destruction of at least eight flats and causing widespread panic among the residents, according to officials.
Initial reports indicate that the fire ignited unexpectedly in a flat at Gaur Green Avenue society, quickly spreading to neighboring units and leading to considerable damage. Authorities are still assessing the total impact of the incident.
Upon receiving news of the fire, multiple fire engines were dispatched to the location, and firefighting efforts commenced immediately.
Firefighters remain on-site, working diligently to extinguish the flames while also conducting rescue and relief operations.
The precise cause of the fire has yet to be identified.
Fortunately, there have been no reported fatalities; however, residents had to evacuate their homes swiftly as the fire spread rapidly through parts of the complex.
Ravindra Kumar Mandar, the District Magistrate of Ghaziabad, informed reporters, "We received information about the fire around 8:30 a.m., and at least eight flats have been affected. Rescue officials have confirmed that there are no casualties. I have also communicated with the local Residents' Welfare Association. Seventeen fire tenders were dispatched immediately after we received the alert."
He added, "An investigation team will be established to determine the fire's cause. I have been informed that some woodwork was ongoing in one of the flats, so we will be looking into that. We have also issued a safety advisory for nearby societies and will conduct inspections there as well."
Additionally, the District Magistrate mentioned that two elderly residents were taken to local hospitals after experiencing breathing issues due to smoke inhalation.
Authorities from both the police and fire departments are currently investigating the incident, and a thorough inquiry is in progress.
